Working Pattern

We consulted looked after children and young people from Coventry about how they would like to be cared for. These are some of the things they said;

- to be cared for by people who won’t give up on us
- to build and maintain positive relationships and where possible, not to move to far away from where we used to live and to stay in the same school

As a result of this and our aim to keep children living close by to enable us to meet their needs in partnership with other services, we are opening three new homes for children in Coventry.

We are looking for people who can help us to achieve great things for looked after children and young people and who place them at the centre of everything we do. If you feel you are caring, non-judgmental, enthusiastic, committed and child focused with the ability to work in partnership with others, are reflective, flexible, accountable and resilient, we would like to hear from you. You may not have worked in residential care before, but you will need to have experience of working with children and young people and be passionate about improving outcomes for them.

Ideally you will also be a driver, have a good level of computer literacy, and be committed to continued professional development. In return we will offer you support and training and if you haven’t already achieved the Diploma in working with Children and Young people, we will support you to do this.

Working Pattern

Full-time on a rota basis. Rota to include evenings, overnights, weekends and some bank holidays.

Interview Date

Assessment day 8th October 2018 - successful candidates will be invited to a panel interview on the 10th October 2018.
