Salary: £80,046 - £92,361 (relocation assistance is available)

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director for Children’s Services and as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Assistant Director for Access and Achievement is a critical role providing the technical knowledge and skills of the education agenda as well as the leadership skills to build trust and confidence in the council’s new role. It will be accountable for delivering the Council’s statutory responsibilities in ensuring all children and young people have a school place which is high quality and delivers outstanding outcomes. The role requires collaborative working across all services and partners including schools and other setting. It requires a proven track record of delivering impactful, measurable outcomes which transform the educational experience of children and families, particularly vulnerable learners.

The Person

Demonstrating exemplary stakeholder engagement and management skills, you will evidence a successful track record of leading and delivering impactful change in a complex organisation of scale. You will showcase fresh thinking coupled with the ability to articulate big ideas into practical programmes, building support for your ideas, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth implementation of any solutions.

You will be a passionate, creative and compelling advocate for all children and young people, with a tenacious, robust, can-do mentality and a restless appetite for continuous improvement.
