Post Looked After Children Adviser

Term Time only 39 weeks per year - 21 hours (3 days) per week

Worcestershire Virtual School for Looked After Children and Vulnerable Learners (0-25) are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Advisor for previously Looked After Children (Adopted, Special Guardianship, Residential Order and Care Order).
The purpose of the job is to ensure that previously looked after children (definition below) in Worcestershire receive the best possible support in their learning and development. To work closely within The Virtual School and other agencies and partners to support schools, parents, carers and social workers in relation to SEN and school matters.
The Advisor will make information and advice available to the following parties for the purposes of promoting the education of eligible previously looked-after children:
any person that has parental responsibility for the child;
providers of funded early years education, designated teachers for previously looked-after children in maintained schools and academies; and
any other person the authority considers appropriate for promoting the educational achievement of relevant children.

You will be joining a highly motivated team, committed to improving the life chances of our children and young people. Applicants should have knowledge of, experience in, and a commitment to, improving practice and outcomes of Children who are previously Looked After.
Full training will be given to the successful candidate.
