Birmingham Adult Education Service is a key part of Birmingham City Council's strategy to improve skills and to make sure that people of all ages can be proactively involved in our economic growth. We are a large learning provider operating form 11 main centres across the city. We provide a wide range of courses to post 16 learners - helping them to reach their personal/long-term goals and aspirations.

As part of our Learner Gateway, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic Lead Careers, Campaigns & Events Coach to ensure that our learners have the best possible learning experience and a range of progression options into further study, education and employment. The post-holder will be expected to be a committed people person with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise workloads. There will be a requirement to lead on service Campaigns and Events to enhance learners’ life chances and deliver appropriate Careers Programmes. The role will require collaborative working with internal and external partners, including employers, to provide the best opportunities for learners and to fulfil their learning and career potential and secure their ultimate destination goals. A sound understanding of local labour markets and a willingness to promote these is essential. A good understanding of the National Careers Strategy and Gatsby Foundation Benchmarks is also required. You will need to have a flexible approach as some evening and weekend work will be required. You will be expected to manage and lead a team of staff. In order to be shortlisted, applicants will need to hold a Level 6 Diploma in Careers Advice & Guidance.
