An exciting opportunity is available to work within the Client Services Team at Wychavon District Council, Pershore in the heart of rural Worcestershire. You will assist the busy Greenspace Officers in the delivery of award winning parks and open spaces.
Working with the Client Services Team, the post holder will assist the Senior Parks and Greenspace Officer with the day to day monitoring and organisation of the work on open spaces, verges and parks including dealing with contractors, forward planning, refurbishment projects, events in parks, play areas, tree and shrub management, GIS mapping systems, budget control and all other aspects of open space management.
There will be the occasional need to assist with enforcement issue such as abandoned cars, fly tipping, PSPO’s.
To apply you will need a relevant qualification or substantial experience in Horticulture or a closely related subject. Previous experience in dealing with customers/public in a relevant field of Horticulture/Landscape would be beneficial plus lots of enthusiasm and a flexible approach to work.
Horticultural knowledge especially for trees, shrubs and grassland management.
Monitoring contractors work.
Experience of working in a team and ability to work alone
Ability to calculate technical data
This post requires the ability to travel through the district to make site visits as well as working outdoors. There is also a requirement for making lone site visits to a variety of landscape sites.
