Civil Enforcement Officer
Applications are invited to join the Parking and Enforcement Services Team in the role of Civil Enforcement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real contribution to keeping Worcester moving and a cleaner and greener place in which to live and work.
Civil Enforcement Officers enforce parking regulations throughout the entire City; both on the Public Highway and within the thirteen Council owned car parks. Officers also focus on the enforcement of Environmental Crime issues such as litter, abandoned vehicles and fly tipping.
The Civil Enforcement Team works closely with a wide range of partners including Worcestershire County Council and West Mercia Police. The role is dynamic and challenging, Officers work with our partners on issues that affect how Worcester functions; addressing quality of life issues for residents and visitors alike which are then tackled and resolved.
Applicants must have the ability to work out of doors for extended periods in all weathers, be self motivated and able to gather quality evidence, accurately recording vehicle details on a hand held computer.
Previous experience in dealing with members of the public is essential. Knowledge of parking enforcement regulations or Environmental Crime is desirable, as is knowledge of roads and streets in Worcester City.
Candidates will need to exhibit a professional and polite disposition and have personal qualities that enable them to remain calm under pressure.
Evening and weekend work is required on a rota basis as part of the normal working week of 37 hours. Full training and Civil Enforcement Officer uniform will be provided. Sunday working attracts an enhanced pay supplement.
