Waste Minimisation and Recycling Officer
We are looking for a Waste Minimisation and Recycling Officer to work within the Council’s busy waste care service.
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Blowers Green Depot
The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of the Council’s services relating to waste management, as well as taking a lead role in promoting recycling and raising public awareness of waste minimisation. A key aspect of the role is the planning and implementation of waste education programmes and looking at new and innovative ways of further improving the Council’s recycling rates.
The successful candidate will have experience in identifying and sourcing new funding for the promotion of recycling, waste minimisation and awareness and will have up to date knowledge of relevant environmental legislation. They will represent the Council at appropriate national, local and internal working groups relating to waste and recycling issues and work with the Communications and Public Affairs team to deliver media releases and promotional activities.
The postholder is required to hold a HNC in Waste Management or equivalent, and a full UK driving licence.
