Staffordshire University Academy is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the team from September 2018. This role may suit someone thinking of moving into teaching in the near future.

If you have always wondered whether you would be suited to a career in education this is a fantastic opportunity for you to find out, and gain valuable experience.

We have access to high quality facilities and resources and work within a strong team structure that allows best practice to be shared. The successful candidate will join a team of friendly and supportive colleagues who want to achieve the very best for our students.

The post holder will have the appropriate skills, ability and confidence to supervise whole classes when directed in the absence of a teacher. The successful candidate will also have strong ICT skills and hold English and Maths GCSEs at grade C or above. It is desirable but not essential that you have prior experience of working with groups of 11 – 18 year olds.

In return we can offer a genuinely exciting opportunity in a growing and successful academy. For those aspiring to a career in teaching, the academy may support your training to achieve qualified teacher status. We benefit from strong links with our sponsor Staffordshire University, and boast excellent facilities including classrooms equipped with the latest audio visual technology and free use of fitness suite.

For more information and to request an application pack please contact Ms Claire Simpson P.A. to Principal at or visit our website: Tel: 01543 512415.

This academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form
