Recruitment and Retention Lead - Children's Services
Coventry City Council has been working hard to improve the outcomes for their children and young people. The commitment placed behind a comprehensive improvement plan and an investment in resources has created significant improvement across the board. To sustain and build upon our current progress, it is vital that we are able to attract and retain staff in key and hard to recruit to roles.
This newly created post will work in partnership with the Children’s Services Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement best practice and innovation in the areas of recruitment and retention for Social Workers and other hard to reach posts within Children’s Services.
We’re looking for someone who has expert knowledge and demonstrable experience in the recruitment and retention of employees. You will be a champion of the organisational and social benefits of greater diversity in the workforce, ensuring recruitment of staff within Children’s services reflects the communities they serve. You will have a thorough understanding of the importance of strong employer branding and effective social media usage in engaging with candidates in hard to recruit roles. You will be an excellent communicator, with strong influencing skills, able to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels. We want someone who has a passion for innovation and the ability to push the envelope within the framework of local government, ensuring that Coventry City Council is viewed as an employer of choice, in a competitive employment market.
Due to the nature of this post, it will work across both Children’s Services and the Recruitment Team under a matrix-management arrangement. We require a self-starter who is motivated and enthusiastic, possesses excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise their own workload effectively.
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week
