Social Worker – Court Teams (Lichfield and Newcastle)
The Court Team is responsible for Care Proceedings from granting of the Interim Care Order to granting of final orders. The social worker within the Court team will also work closely with safeguarding colleagues during the pre-proceedings process to ensure that high quality assessments are completed prior to issuing Court proceedings.
A qualified and experienced Social Worker is required for the busy Court Teams based in Lichfield and Newcastle. You will be responsible for assessments, Court statements and presenting evidence to the Court. You will have responsibility for planning for children in the care of the Local Authority which can be for return home, placement with friends or family, adoption or long term fostering, and undertaking the care planning and Court work required to ensure timely permanency planning is achieved for children.
The ability to engage and communicate with children is essential and to support children in care to reach their full potential. You will need to work closely with colleagues in Safeguarding, Court and Care Planning, Through Care, Fostering, Adoption and Friends and Family Teams.
