If you are looking for a rewarding role whilst working with a friendly and supportive group of people committed to the success of the youngsters they work with, then this is the school for you.

Holly Lodge is a thriving and exciting 11-19 school, which has made significant progress in recent years. In 2016 the schools key stage 4 results showed progress 8 measures significantly above national. Post 16 results have demonstrated a year on year improvement in both academic and vocational outcomes.

We currently have over 1450 students on roll, which is steadily increasing due to rapid improvements that the school has successfully made. We are part of the ‘building schools for the future’ programme with a new £23.5 million school that completed in September 2011 offering state of the art teaching and learning facilities.

Our latest OFSTED inspection in February 2017 judged that ‘the school continues to be good’. ‘The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school and is fully committed to creating a culture of continuous improvement’.

General CCF Information:

This CCF unit was part of the CEP 100 programme and forms an integral part of the extra-curricular life at the school. This role will be on a part time basis of 2 to 3 days (to suit successful candidate.) We parade on a Tuesday from 3:30 until 5:00.

The contingent recruits from primarily Year 9 students and currently has over 60 cadets starting this academic year. It is expected that the cadets will take part in CCF activity comprising basic military training and expedition skills. It is planned that students will have the opportunity to remain with the CCF throughout their school life and year on year, new cadets will enroll, thus expanding the CCF in the school.

Main Purpose of Job:

The SSI is a key CCF staff member whose principal role is to organise and deliver military and adventurous training. The SSI role is central to the establishment and smooth and efficient running of the contingent and the development of the leadership potential of Cadets in each school. There is an expectation that the SSI will take a lead role in the future direction of the CCF.

Salary: A competitive package depending on experience and qualifications upon appointment plus up to 51 days MoD pay.

Holiday: Pro rata of 25 days per year plus bank holidays (it may not be possible to take public holidays during term-time and time off will be given in lieu).
