We are currently recruiting for a suitably experienced Human Resources Officer. As part of a small team, you will be responsible for providing generalist HR support to include advising managers and employees and supporting HR projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR with a breadth of capabilities to include the ability to develop professional relationships with managers, contributing to succession planning and organisational change.
The role will be critical in ensuring that appropriate activities and initiatives are in place to enable the council to fulfill its aims and aspirations. With excellent interpersonal skills the successful candidate will be able to inspire confidence and instill trust and be committed to achieving the best outcomes for people.
Key requirements and experience include:
- Employee Relations
- Working knowledge of current employment law and practice
- Experience in supporting, coaching and influencing senior managers
- Experience of collective bargaining and negotiating with Trade Unions
- Effective organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight and conflicting deadlines.
- Proficient IT skills
