We require two Education and Family Engagement Officers to work with designated schools to help them fulfil their responsibilities for recording, promoting and raising attendance in line with national school targets. This post is based within the Inclusion Support Service along with the Behaviour & Attendance Officers.

The post holders will support Wolverhampton City Council in discharging its duty to ensure that children of compulsory school age are properly educated. The role will focus on providing attendance support to schools and visiting families in their home, attending meeting and sending letters to promote improved attendance. If attendance does not improve following intervention the post holder would support the school to prepare the legal pack required to refer for Statutory support.

Applicants should possess a post 16 qualification related to working with young people and demonstrable ability to progress to higher levels of qualifications, as well as recent experience of working with families in local communities to support children's learning and development.
