Band: HoS2 (£73,545 - £77,569 pro rata) market supplement may be available
We are seeking to employ 2 part time Public Health Consultants to join the team in Herefordshire. Applicants should be strategic thinkers with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and decision makers, have strong leadership skills and a commitment to working within a political system. Applicants should be committed to working with people and promoting a learning environment which supports us effectively embedding prevention and an outcome based approach to commissioning and service delivery. The successful candidates will join a developing team which is managed by a recently appointed Director of Public Health, based in the Adults and Communities Directorate.
The Director of Public Health has responsibility for strategic housing, communities and prevention in addition to the core public health team, which include the advertised consultant posts and a team of commissioners and public health specialists.
There is flexibility in determining how the portfolios of work are allocated to the successful candidates. Both post holders will be expected to have the full range of skills and experience across the three areas of public health practice. In the current interim arrangements one post (circa 14hours/wk) is leading Health Protection, Oral Health and developing the Herefordshire Training placement offer, the second post (circa 28 hours/wk) is leading on Health Improvement, Health in All Policies and Health Intelligence.
