If that’s you then read on……..with all the changes to benefits and the impact this will have on local people and their budgets, we are seeking to recruit three Community Financial Inclusion Support Officers to join our busy team. You will work across the Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council and Rugby Borough Council areas.

The successful candidate will deliver a community outreach programme for local residents to provide support, advice and guidance to improve money management skills.

Experience of working with customers in a one to one situation, including giving money management or digital advice, identifying additional needs and signposting to other organisations. Key to this role is having great interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong trusting relationships with local people and also partners from outside agencies. You will have strong advocacy skills and the ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and empathy when supporting customers experiencing financial difficulties.
You will be able to work using your own initiative, good at managing your own time and working to tight deadlines. You will need to be able to learn, understand and apply complex processes and make decisions. You will be flexible and creative in your approach and able to find financial solutions for local residents, including income and benefit maximisation and options around fuel poverty. At the heart of your work will be the promotion and use of the Customer Referral Form and developing customer focussed action plans. You will need to communicate at all levels, represent the authorities at meetings and create and maintain strong working relationships with outside organisations. You will need to have previous office experience, including the use of manual and computer records and the ability to manage your own workload.
You will need to have a full driving licence, have access to your own transport, able to undertake visits to residents homes and outreach areas and occasionally be able to attend evening meetings.
This position may be open to a secondment opportunity for employees of Nuneaton and Bedworth BC, North Warwickshire BC and Rugby BC. You will need to discuss with your line manager first to get permission before applying.
