Teacher of Psychology (Maternity cover)
Required January 2019
We are looking to recruit a committed and well-qualified teacher of psychology to teach motivated and enthusiastic students at A Level; required mid-January 2019. A Level Psychology is one of the most popular and successful A Level subjects. Ideally you will have experience of Advanced level subjects, although Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are welcome to apply and will be given support if successful.
Psychology is a part of the Social Sciences faculty along with Sociology and Law. Psychology is an extremely popular subject within the school, having two groups in both Year 12 and Year 13; students follow the new AQA A level syllabus. In 2018, 100% of A level students achieved A-E grades in Psychology, with 55% achieving A*-B.
In 2018, 71% of Idsall School GCSE students achieved a Grade 4 or better in both English and Maths, with 42% achieving Grade 5 or better.
Idsall School is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 rural school with excellent facilities. Idsall was described by OFSTED (May 2017) as a good school where students achieve well and leave with results that are above the national average. All judgements were good.
Students are very well behaved and respond positively to our hard-working and highly committed staff. You will be joining the school at an exciting stage of its development.
