We are seeking experienced, motivated and enthusiastic professionals that have the relevant qualifications and competencies to inspect the full range of businesses as required by the Food Law Code of Practice. 

You should enjoy working in a fast paced and challenging environment, be a great team player with good communication skills and have a proven track record of managing your own diverse workload with minimal supervision.

Your responsibilities will include a full range of food and health and safety enforcement work including planned interventions, accident investigations, complaints, infectious disease investigations and providing advice and support to local businesses and the public

The ideal candidate (s) will be a

  • Qualified Environmental Health Practitioner and 
  • Have EHRB registration or equivalent and be
  • Competent as defined by the FSA Code of Practice for Food Enforcement.
  • Recent experience of enforcing food safety and health and safety legislation is highly desirable.
  • You will be an excellent communicator and capable of using your own initiative and working with minimum supervision.
  • You will have excellent computer literacy and in particular, be proficient in the use of a database

Work Pattern

Full time 37 hours / week – 10 month fixed term contract
Part time 21 hours / week – 12 month fixed term contract – flexible hours
Part time 26 hours /week – 10 month fixed term contract – flexible hours
