We are seeking to appoint a strong Head of Year to join our excellent Student Support team in providing safeguarding and pastoral care to our students. This is a pivotal role in ensuring our ongoing commitment towards safeguarding of children within our school and the wider community we serve. The successful candidate, along with support from the Designated Safeguarding Lead, will be responsible for managing child protection issues, ensuring policies, systems, structures and resources are in place to promote the welfare and protection of children.
Along with at least a Grade C/level 4 GCSE in English and Maths plus Post 16 qualifications, you will have recent experience of working with or caring for children of secondary school age within your current and/or previous post. You must be confident in working with a range of people, including external agencies, senior leadership team and Governors. Excellent administrative and record keeping skills along with fine attention to detail in order to produce reports, take minutes of meetings and document safeguarding concerns is essential.
The RSA Academy in Tipton (West Midlands) is an oversubscribed and expanding 11-19 school with 1100 students. The school is a member of the RSA Family of Academies and joined the Central RSA Academies Trust on 1st October 2017. We are highly aspirational, boasting fantastic, state of the art facilities for both students and staff, including a £5 million new build block to enable expansion and the successful candidate will be joining the school at a critical and exciting time to drive things forward.
