Resilience Foster Carer

Fostering Payments: up to £35,133 per annum

Make a difference to a young person currently living in residential care.

You could use the skills gained in your current or previous role working with vulnerable young people to change career and become a Resilience Foster Carer.

Resilience Fostering is a unique opportunity where carers provide long term, family based placements for young people aged 8-18 years old who currently live in or are at risk of entering residential care.

We are looking for people who have a background in social work, residential homes, youth work or similar professions who have experience of supporting young people who are vulnerable and who may have challenging emotional or behavioural issues.

The young people are always carefully matched to their foster carers and all placements have an extended introductory period. There are monthly support groups with other Resilience Foster Carers, support visits from your social worker and access to a comprehensive package of training. You can also access out of ours support 24/7.

Resilience foster care is challenging and our foster carers are paid up to £675 per week to enable them to care for our young people full-time. In addition you will have the opportunity to have some time by yourself with built in short breaks for your young person.

You do need a spare room to be a Resilience Foster Carer and you can’t have any other dependent children living in the household.

This financial year we are looking to recruit a further six Resilience Foster Carers.
