Specific Responsibilities
  Produce staff ID cards
  Provide help and guidance to pupils on an individual or group 
basis within ICT lessons.
  Ensure  that  as  far  as  possible,  pupils  are  not  exposed  to 
inappropriate materials on the internet.
  Work with pupils to promote safe use of ICT equipment and 
sites at school and at home.
  Work to establish a supportive relationship with children
  Encourage  acceptance  and  inclusion  of  all  children  with 
special needs.
  Promote and reinforce the children’s self-esteem.
  Ensure  pupils  know  how  to  report  any  cyber  bullying  or 
activity which causes concern.
  Be aware of and follow all school policies and procedures, in 
particular policies related  to the use of ICT equipment and 
sites  Be  aware  of  confidential  issues  linked  to 
home/pupil/teacher/school  work  and  keep  confidence  as 
appropriate
  Work  with  Arden  Group  and  the  Senior  ICT  Technician  to 
prepare  an  action  plan  linked  to  required  investment  to
ensure that ICT equipment meets the needs of the curriculum
  Obtain  quotes,  which  represent  best  value,  for  new  ICT 
equipment/ repairs etc.
  Assist with workshops, training and clubs to promote the use 
of ICT
  Contribute to the maintenance and development of the school 
Network provision
  Ensure  the  security  of  IT  data  in  accordance  with  Data 
Protection and IT policies and procedures
  Undertake requested instructions from SLT line manager.
  Provide technical support 
  Assist with hardware installations and upgrades
  Provide day to day ICT technical support.
  Promote  the  use  of  ICT  as  an  administrative  and 
management tool across the school.
  Perform PC hardware repairs and upgrades;
  Maintain  common  hardware  found  in  school,  install 
applications and trouble-shoots problems;
  Design  and  apply  processes  to  manage  configuration  of 
change in IT within the school;
  Assist with the maintenance and development of school’s ICT 
networks,  including  school  backup,  virus  protection  and 
security procedures, advising on compatibility of hardware, 
applications and operating systems;
  Follow relevant IT Health and Safety procedures and raise 
awareness among staff, pupils and other users;
  Assist the Senior ICT Technician with the prioritisation of the 
resolution  of  PC,  printer  and  software  faults,  determining 
whether external support is required;
  Train staff on how to use ICT equipment and programmes;
  Assist with maintaining an adequate supply of consumables 
and replaces as necessary;
  Assist in ensuring all users have access to ICT resources by 
setting  up  new  user  accounts  and  passwords  and  email 
groups
  Connect and set up and checking PC’s and peripherals for 
normal operation
  Ensure basic safety checks are carried out, including annual 
portable equipment testing.
  Perform basic routines for checking status of both PC suites 
and individual computers
  Ensure all users have access to ICT resources by setting up 
new user accounts and passwords and email groups 
  Comply  with  all  relevant  school  policies  and  legislation, 
maintaining appropriate records. 
  Ensure  that  a  supply  of  consumable  items  such  as  printer 
cartridges  and  toners  are  maintained  and  reordered  as 
required.
  Carry out back-ups of our network server at specific intervals.
  Ensure virus protection is kept up to date.
  Maintain  the  hardware  database  with  new  and  updated 
equipment following school policies for audit requirements.
  Install  new  software,  and  documenting  its  use  on  the 
hardware database.
  Maintain  the  school  domain,  adding  and  deleting  staff  and 
pupils as they join or leave the School
  Undergo any training linked to the development of ICT  and 
disseminate the training to others.
  Help  identify  personal  training  needs  required  to  help 
implement school priorities and enhance 
  own job performance
  Undertake any other appropriate and reasonable duties that 
may be required at the request of the Headteacher.
