A permanent opportunity has arisen in the Communications Department, currently based at Service Headquarters, Charles Hastings Way, but due to relocate to Hindlip Park, WR3 8SP in the coming weeks.

The Role

The role of Communications Officer is to provide an internal communications service and support the press and media liaison function in support of HWFRS objectives.

The post holder will be responsible for wide and varied projects from start to completion, including high-level corporate projects, day-to-day communications, online services (intranet, internet and social media) and a variety of other regular and bespoke communications.

The Person

The ideal applicant will possess a relevant professional qualification in communications (e.g. CIM, CIPR or similar). A good standard of English and grammar is required – this post will be expected to write high-quality and professional communications on a daily basis.

Experience and Skills

- Experience of writing press releases, handling media enquiries and briefing and supporting staff with media interviews.

- Excellent IT skills, and be able to understand and use alternative IT systems and platforms.

- Have excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

- Have excellent verbal and written skills, able to write copy to a high standard.

- Be able to work unsupervised and be decisive within a specialized field.
