HeadStart is a Big Lottery Funded mental wellbeing and resilience programme for young people aged 10 to 16. After securing £9 million for phase three, the programme needs a strong, highly committed team that will promote and deliver HeadStart values and outcomes across the city through its young people engagement and peer support activities.

You should be organised, enthusiastic and highly motivated and able to articulate how you will make a positive contribution to the development of mental wellbeing initiatives for the young people of Wolverhampton.

Principal duties:

• To champion and make a significant contribution to the delivery of HeadStart objectives and outcomes around the development of whole-school policies and strategies for HeadStart activities to build the resilience and mental wellbeing of children and young people,

• Raise awareness of mental health and contribute to the anti-stigma agenda

• Help schools to develop positive strategies for tackling recurrent and emerging issues such as bullying which are known to negatively impact on the mental health of young people.

• Support the development and delivery of appropriate resilience and mental wellbeing training for young people and for professionals in line with the HeadStart workforce development strategy

• Undertake any other duties required as determined by the Senior Schools and Young People Engagement Coordinator
