Autism Teacher

Part time contract: 19.5 hours –Three days per week (days to be agreed), 1 year temporary initially

Salary: M1-M6 to be considered.

Start date: to be discussed in interview – as soon as possible

We are looking for an inspirational teacher who has a passion for raising standards for children with SEND or additional learning needs to join our highly talented, supportive and friendly team. You will take responsibility for planning and co-ordinating the curriculum and personalised learning programmes for up to 14 FS-Yr6 pupils with a diagnosis of autism in ‘The Willows’ our ARP (Additional Resource Provision).

Candidates need to hold a relevant teaching qualification, and need to be:

•An excellent practitioner with high expectations of all children

•Proven track record of working successfully with children with autism in a mainstream school or specialist provision.

•Innovative and creative practitioner who can flex and adapt to meet the individual needs of children

•Open to new ideas and initiatives

•Willing to invest in families

•Willing to go the extra mile

•Confident in their own ability to influence the practice of others

•Able to work as part of a team

•Friendly, approachable and emotionally intelligent

•Organised and have good interpersonal and communication skills
