Permanent Level 2 Teaching Assistant

For Mainstream Autism Base

21hours per week - Scale 10 to 13 plus SEN Allowance

Salary: £8799 - £9055 per annum

Are you someone who is passionate about providing pupils with the opportunity to engage in learning within mainstream classes as well as supporting individuals and groups in accessing a specialist autism curriculum. We are looking for a patient and caring Grade 2 teaching assistant with an understanding of the best way to support pupils in the classroom and on the playground.

We have been described as an exceptional 12 place mainstream autism Base (CCN Team, 2018) run between two schools Meadows First School and Parkside Middle School.  Our pupils receive a very high standard of educational and emotional support and are engaged, challenged and making progress as seen in the comments following a recent Ofsted Inspection at Meadows First School (March 2018).  “Pupils from the autism base approach their learning with confidence. Some of these pupils access lessons in the main school when they are ready to do so. Skilful teaching by the teacher and support staff enables pupils to make strong progress.”

As the successful applicant you will have an opportunity to be part of a team which provides an education that is inclusive to the child’s individual needs.  We can also offer you a supportive environment and training to suit you in meeting the needs of the pupils you will be working with.

Work Pattern:             8:45am – 3:15pm, Monday, Wednesday & Thursday (half hour lunch break) &
