Staffordshire is working in a more localised and co-ordinated way to ensure families receive the right help at the right time.  Families First is a new way of working that brings together the full range of front- line services that deliver to children, young people or their families.  Our children’s social work teams are a vital part of the new Families First Service, which, by investing in early intervention, frees the time of qualified social work professionals to support the most vulnerable families in the county.

We have 18 Safeguarding Units in Staffordshire and they provide specialist services for children and young people with acute needs including situations where there are child protection concerns.

We require a committed and highly motivated person to work with children and their families who are receiving services from our Stafford North Safeguarding Team. The tasks undertaken by the successful candidate will entail the transporting of children, some direct work with parents, supporting contact arrangements and including parenting and budgeting and supporting Social Workers in carrying out their statutory duties.

The work will be both challenging and rewarding and will require a high level of resilience and flexibility.  You will need to have some previous experience of direct work with vulnerable children and their families and be able to work as part of a team.

Making sure you are well supported and given the opportunity to develop and progress is a high priority at Staffordshire and is very important to us.  We have excellent staff development programme and good practice is recognised and rewarded.
