Do you want to:
Enjoy getting involved in a diverse mix of urban and rural issues and meeting the challenges of the widest spread of affluence and deprivation in Staffordshire?
Enjoy the opportunity to play a key role in delivering an ambitious development plan programme?
Enjoy the challenge of joint working as part of the preparation of a new Joint Local Plan which is addressing greatly increased housing needs and constraints such as Green Belt and development viability?
The Council is preparing a new Joint Local Plan in partnership with the neighbouring authority of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, which will replace our Joint Core Strategy
Alongside this the Council is working with Keele University to strengthen the area’s economic potential and participating in the Northern Gateway Development Zone Initiative to optimise the potential economic investment arising from the HS2 project. This provides an exciting opportunity to work with partner authorities and the Cheshire and North Staffordshire LEPs to support the development of a longer term growth strategy.
If this appeals to you and you are a committed and enthusiastic individual, eager to play a key role in influencing the exciting changes ahead in the Borough and North Staffordshire, you will be interested in this post.
You will have experience in working in planning policy in a local authority at a senior level, be a Chartered Member of the RTPI, have detailed knowledge of statutory planning and a good knowledge of local government.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Guy Benson, Head of Planning on 01782 742408.
