Specialist Teaching Assistant (SLCN) Speech and Language Centre
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to work at the Speech and Language Centre, for pupils in reception/KS1 with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
Hours: 32.5 per week term time only / 39 weeks
Salary: Level 3 Grade 5 Scale Points 18-21 (£14, 244.65- £15,506.06) + Special Needs Allowance Level 2
Location: Speech and Language Centre based at Quarry Bank Primary School
The successful candidate will require significant experience of working with mainstream primary children with Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN). Detailed knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) National Curriculum is required. The role will be working with pupils who have severe and complex SLCN, attending a two day placement at the Centre in order to develop their English, Mathematics, Social and Emotional Well Being skills. The role will also involve liaising with the mainstream school to share assessments, data and pastoral information. The successful candidate will need to be patient, calm, a good communicator, confident in planning/delivering EYFS/NC subjects, as well as in liaising with various outside agencies and parents. The successful candidate will also need to be an excellent problem solver with a “can do” attitude who is flexible, who can take the initiative as well as work within a team
