Casual Falls Prevention Activity Instructors (4 x posts) - Ref EE26018

Sport & Leisure Services Health and Fitness Team have vacancies for Falls Prevention Activity Instructors to join our existing Falls Prevention service.

The post holders will be required to help develop the community element of the Falls Pathway along with delivering high quality Falls Prevention exercise classes across Walsall to a range of older people with different health conditions. The sessions will improve their confidence and independence, as well as reduce the risk of falling, by using exercises that work on their balance, strength, stamina, posture, mobility and co-ordination.

The role will involve increasing participation through on-going out-reach and promotional work identifying and improving access to those who are low to medium risk fallers.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisation, motivation and communication skills as well as the ability to work confidently with older people and older people’s services within community environments.

You will have experience of delivering exercise sessions to older people as well as an up to date Postural Stability Instructors Qualification or equivalent and will uphold all Health and Safety requirements.

Please note: The casual Falls Prevention Activity Instructor positions are non- contractual positions and work will be allocated on an as and when needed basis to cover annual leave, sick leave and holidays. Therefore, hours are not guaranteed.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English
