The Housing Support Team exists to provide a comprehensive housing support service to residents within Dudley MBC with identified support needs. To enable them to maintain their home and to encourage and facilitate the residents’ independence, quality of life, health and well being.
Housing Support now offer a number of services including Floating Support, Mediation, Family Support, Drop In services, Pre tenancy Workshops, Garden Pathways & Employability. In addition to these we are also in the process of developing further services and we are therefore looking to recruit 2 Intensive Housing Support Officers.

Hours: 37 per week

Location: Harbour Buildings, Waterfront West, Brierley Hill, DY5 1LN

To provide a comprehensive and intensive intervention package to identified rough sleepers.
The aim is to assist the individual to move into suitable accommodation, providing intensive support and encouragement in order to maintain the property and become an active member of the community and to proactively and assertively engage and support the most vulnerable and challenging individuals, to improve their outcomes, develop their resilience and reduce dependency upon specialist services.

The successful candidate will:

Have extensive experience of working with rough sleepers or others with complex needs.

Have experience of providing housing related support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.

Have experience of engaging and sustaining relationships with people who are socially excluded.

Have the ability to communicate effectively and work in partnership with a wide range of agencies and the community.
