The Housing Support Team exists to provide a comprehensive housing support service to residents within Dudley MBC with identified support needs. To enable them to maintain their home and to encourage and facilitate the residents’ independence, quality of life, health and well being.

Housing Support now offer a number of services including Floating Support, Mediation, Family Support, Drop In services, Pre tenancy Workshops, Garden Pathways & Employability. To develop our service further we are looking to recruit an additional 3 HS - Intensive Family Support workers.

Hours: 37 per week

Location: Harbour Buildings, Waterfront West, Brierley Hill, DY5 1LN

As an Intensive Family Support Worker you will provide a comprehensive and intensive intervention package to the most complex families, particularly those who persistently perpetrate crime, display anti-social behaviour, have children not attending school on a regular basis, have family members without regular employment or are at risk of homelessness. The aim is to assist the family to change their behaviour resulting in reduced crime and anti-social behaviour, children attending school on a regular basis and family members entering employment.

The successful candidate will:

Extensive experience of working with children, young people and families and in particular families involved in crime and anti social behaviour, with children not attending school on a regular basis and where family members are without regular work.

Proven experience of providing housing related support to families with complex needs, including those at risk of homelessness.

Proven ability to effectively engage and sustain relationships with children, young people and their families.

Have the ability to think creatively.
