Finance Business Partner
Coventry is an exciting place to be as it builds up to its year as a European City of Sport in 2019 and UK City of Culture in 2021, it also has ambitious plans to change the city centre and attract new business and jobs into the city.
This isn’t without challenges. Over the last 10 years council funding has reduced meaning that we have to change what we do and how we do it. The Transformation and Major Projects team sits within Customer Services and Transformation at the heart of the Council. We work with services across the organisation to drive large scale change and establish best practice. The Council’s Transformation Programme is overseen and supported by our Corporate Leadership Team.
We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Finance Business partner to join our enthusiastic and dedicated team. This important role involves supporting the delivery of large scale change, working closely with colleagues to deliver a coherent programme to improve quality and outcomes as well as address financial challenges.
The team supports a variety of key transformation programmes that successful candidates may be required to provide financial support to te various change programmes. As a council will continue to undergo significant change at a high pace so we are looking for people with a level of personal resilience in a high paced environment.
Who are we looking for?
• are comfortable working independently as they are within a team setting
• use complex financial information to help inform decision making
• communicate the outputs from detailed financial modelling to non-finance colleagues
• can work with uncertainty and changing priorities
• are self-motivated and determined
A bit about us…

We work in flexible ways, focusing on the best way to achieve the desired outcomes. The Major Projects Finance team provides financial advice and support to large scale projects and to the Counci’s transformation programme. We work with Council services to identify where there are opportunities to deliver services more efficiently or on a more commercial basis.
