There are currently social worker vacancies in the Adoption Central England (ACE) service – the regional adoption agency for Coventry, Solihull, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. The vacancies are permanent and full time they are in the ACE Spoke.
As a Spoke social worker you will be responsible for working closely with Children Social Work Teams in family finding for children and providing support services to adoptive families. You will also be required to complete non agency adoption work and provide services to adopted adults. You will primarily be supporting families in the Warwickshire and Solihull areas.
All applicants need to have knowledge of children social work and adoption practice and a strong commitment to ensuring permanency for children in care. You must be prepared to work in a dynamic and new environment as our aim is to ensure that children are placed with their adoptive parents without delay and that our adopters are well assessed, prepared and supported to parent in an emotionally connected way, taking account of the therapeutic, developmental and behavioural needs of their children.
You must be willing to embrace the principles of Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) and will be supported to develop these skills and to bring the attitude of PACE into your relationships with adopters, colleagues and stakeholders. You must be committed to supporting adopters help child recover from trauma and loss and to feel secure in their new family, ensuring long-term placement stability and resilience.
You must also be prepared to work flexibly according to the needs of the service.
