Coventry is an exciting place to be as it builds up to its year as a European City of Sport in 2019 and UK City of Culture in 2021, it also has ambitious plans to change the city centre and attract new business and jobs into the city.

This isn’t without challenges. Over the last 10 years council funding has reduced meaning that we have to change what we do and how we do it.

With increasing commercial focus alongside stretched resources there are constant demands on the Financial Systems team to review processes and adapt the financial system and reports to meet the needs of the council.

The Financial Systems team sits within the wider Financial Management team in the Place Directorate of the Council. We are the owners of the Finance system and it is our responsibility to maintain the integrity of the system as well as build and test developments and upgrades.

There is an upgrade due imminently and a long future developments list. We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Finance Systems Analyst to support this work.

Who are we looking for?

People who
• are as comfortable working independently as they are within a team setting
• can work with large amounts of data to produce meaningful outputs
• have experience of working with multiple ICT systems, particularly finance systems
• can challenge the status quo and contribute new ideas
• are self-motivated and determined
