Coventry City Council’s Fostering Service is seeking to recruit a Team Manager for one of two Connected Persons Fostering Teams. The Connected Persons Teams are responsible for the assessment of Connected Persons Foster Carers and Special Guardians and the Supervision of Connected Persons Foster Carers and the Support of Special Guardians. There has been a significant rise in the work of the team in recent years and, as a result, an additional team to undertake this work has been created. The successful candidate will manage this new team and have line management responsibility for assessing social workers. They will also be instrumental in supporting the development of best practice in this area of work.

Coventry City Council is investing strongly in its fostering provision and seeking to improve the support provided to Connected Persons Foster Carers as part of this investment.

Applicants should have experience of working with Foster Carers and Special Guardians along with a solid understanding of the legislation, policy and best practice guidance underpinning this work. They should also be able to demonstrate an ability to lead a team and provide effective line management supervision.
