Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Green Fingers project team. Green Fingers is a Lottery funded project for Worcestershire Looked After, Adopted and Kinship young people based within the ISL Health and Well-being team.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of activities, alternative educational sessions, which could include basic Maths, English and Science, as well as arts, gardening, cooking, woodwork, bushcraft, wildlife activities and community and leisure opportunities. Previous experience of working in these or a similar setting would be advantageous. You will also be required to provide support and guidance for sessional workers, apprentices and volunteers.

This 35 hours a week, 12 month post and will be term time only with a requirement to work during school holiday periods, up to a maximum of 20 days (additional hours) as discussed and agreed with the manager. You will be required to work flexibly with some evening and weekend work. You will be based in Worcester but may be required to travel throughout the county.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual who has experience of working with young people in one-to-one and group settings and are able to plan and risk assess activities. You will need to be able to build rapport and motivate young people, to support their individual needs, some of whom will display challenging behaviours and have attachment difficulties. You will be required to liaise with other professionals and will need an adaptable, flexible and responsive approach to working with others. Successful candidates will be able to work autonomously and will make a real difference to Looked After, Adopted and Kinship young people in Worcestershire.
