Grade F £22,401 - £25,463 per annum

Cannock Chase Council is a forward thinking authority planning to meet the key challenges for local government in the coming years. We are seeking a highly motivated, suitably experienced person to join our Environmental and Healthy Lifestyles Department.
The post is based in our Environmental Protection Service, which delivers all environmental protection regulatory functions, together with the pest and dog control services. You will be responsible for tackling littering and dog fouling, involving both education and enforcement. In addition you will support other officers in the Service delivering a wide range of pollution control activities.
You will need good communication and customer care skills, along with written skills sufficient to produce letters and reports and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. In addition you will need to develop good working relationships with colleagues, to work well both in a team and on your own initiative are also essential, as is a flexible approach to work. Good IT skills, to include Word, Excel and Outlook are also required.
Previous experience of dealing with people in confrontational situations is essential along with the ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful manner. Knowledge of current environmental protection issues is desirable.
