Learning Support Practitioner
32 hours Term Time Only plus 5 TED Days;
TA2 Spinal Column Point 14-17; depending on experience
Salary: £13078 - £13812 per annum
The Forge Secondary Short Stay School is looking to appoint a motivated, inspirational and enthusiastic support practitioner to join our successful team as soon as possible
At the Forge our support practitioners are the heart of our team and support pupils in all aspects of their lives, this will include:
- Classroom Support
- Supporting with emotional challenges
- Supporting pupils families
- Working with the agencies involved with the pupils
- Making necessary referrals to agencies for pupils and their families
- Championing the pupils regarding next steps
- Working to support pupil attendance and academic success
- Completing all necessary administration tasks that are a requirement of the post
You will already have or be prepared to learn:
- High levels of resilience
- An interest in child development and the impact of trauma
- An ability to communicate with children and adults in an authentic and straightforward manner
- An interest in or willingness to learn about trauma informed/thrive based approaches to child care
- An ability to work flexibly in a team, including with families and external agencies
- To support pupils in and outside of the classroom enabling them to flourish and thrive both academically and socially.
- An interest in working with and alongside some of the Counties most challenging and vulnerable young people.
