Job Role
Routes to Ambition is an exciting new programme which we are part of and that will ensure young people in Coventry get the best start in life through high quality support into job opportunities. You will deliver a first class service by working with a wide range of partners. You will harness enthusiasm, skills and experience to support young people who are disengaged, or at risk of disengagement, into jobs.
We are looking to appoint a person who will demonstrate that they can work with young people who face real difficulties and disadvantage in life. You will know how to build their confidence so that they can achieve and know how to challenge them when they need to raise their game.
You will engage, motivate and support each person. You will act as a central point of contact and as a critical friend as the Young People proceeds through the Routes to Ambition model of Engagement, Transformation and Sustained Participation.
Your work will be target driven and you will need to demonstrate you can achieve outcomes that can get young people into sustained jobs.

About us
The Work Related Learning Service is based within the Local Authority and consists of a small team of staff who work on behalf of schools to manage alternative provision off site for 13-19 year-old learners, particularly those who are most at risk of becoming disengaged from learning and of becoming NEET. This provision compliments and extends learning provision in schools. Our aim is to significantly impact upon participation, levels of progress, achievement and promote the social inclusion of all 13-19 year olds.

In order to shape and deliver our services in an effective way, we want to ensure that we have employees from a range of different backgrounds, identities and different experiences so that we are able to meet the needs of the communities that we serve.’
