Internal Communications Lead

Now we are looking for an Internal Communications Co-ordinator to be a part of it all. This is a fixed term opportunity for 12 months.
We want someone with the skill and the vision to help spread the word as we reshape our workforce, embrace new technologies and deliver top level services to the people of our city.
We are a Council that’s looking for fresh ways of working to tackle new – and old – challenges. We have new offices, hot-desking, flexible working and the systems and equipment to back it up.
You would help us take that to the next level and play a key role in creating a modern Communications Team and a modern Council, ready for the challenges ahead.
This is a highly visible role and you’ll need experience of the worlds of Communications and local government; the confidence to challenge; and the imagination to bring in new solutions. You’ll need to show you have the skills, the enthusiasm and the drive to get the job done.
You will work with elected members and senior officers to project-manage major internal communications and change-management initiatives as part of our One Coventry programme; and develop new techniques to help us talk to our staff – not just keeping them informed, but giving them a voice.
But you will do far more than that.
As a leading member of the Communications Team, you will support colleagues, and work on major projects from developing our use of social media to running campaigns.
With events like the award-winning Godiva Festival and Motofest, new city centre attractions, and all the excitement as we build towards 2021, there is always something going on - and you would be right in the middle of it all!
