Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are responsible for providing day-to-day fire and rescue services across the two counties of Hereford and Worcestershire. The service is working in partnership with Worcester University, to provide a placement opportunity for existing undergraduates. This placement is expected to start in July 2019.

The successful candidate will assist with the administration duties connected with the preparation and processing of purchase and sales invoices and payroll. The main purpose of the role is to provide financial support to the Authority; ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner.

Applicants must be an undergraduate at Worcester University, and be looking to gain a sandwich degree, which requires participation in a 12 month placement scheme. Applicants must also possess a minimum of 3 GCSE’s at grade C or above (or equivalent), and it is desirable that one of these is GCSE Mathematics, or a recognised financial qualification.

Applicants must have:
- Excellent numerical and computer skills;
- Good communication skills, including a pleasant telephone manner;
- The ability to retain confidentiality;
It is desirable that applicants have had experience within a financial environment, and preferably experience of invoicing, order generation, use and interrogation of a General Ledger system.

The successful applicant will be subject to security clearance vetting, NPPV level 2.
