Advanced Practitioners (Adult Social Care) - Ref: SS42518
Salary £35,795 - £40,454 per annum

This is an exciting time to join Walsall Council’s Adult Social Care service.  We have Advanced Practitioner vacancies in our Intermediate Care Service.

We have recently appointed a new and forward thinking leadership team that has brought a renewed focus on professional practice development across the workforce, to ensure we promote positive and improved outcomes for all our service users.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people to join our team; to help shape and deliver our services, and contribute to the development of a model of best practice for the area.

We currently have a vacancy within our Intermediate Care Team following a recent merge with health colleagues.

This is an exciting time to be joining a newly developing team with a focus on safe discharges, promoting independence and maximising the potential for the citizens of Walsall.

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, organised and driven individual to support the Team Manager in taking the integration forward. You must have experience of managing performance, optimising performance and driving good practice as outlined in the Care Act 2014. You must also have good knowledge of Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding; knowledge in Mental Health would also be advantageous. Your role will include partnership working, supervising staff and overseeing complex cases. You will have a key role in supporting the manager to develop the team.

You will be an experienced registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist and will champion and develop best practice within your team.  You will have sound practice skills, safeguarding knowledge and a proven track record of professional development (you must hold a post qualifying award for/and commit to ongoing practice as AMHP, BIA or Practice Educator).  You will also be committed to the ongoing development of the Adult Social Care wider workforce.

In return, we offer a supportive environment, where despite significant budget pressures, every level of the organisation is committed to ongoing practice development.  We are committed to improving outcomes for service users and your continued professional development.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.

If you would like to discuss this post further, please contact Tina James, Team Manager on 07787271464.

Closing date: 7 January 2019

Interview date: 24 January 2019

Walsall Council takes seriously the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all the children, young people and adults entrusted to our care and it is our expectation that all staff will share this commitment. We will ensure continuous development and improvement of robust recruitment processes and procedures that promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce. Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for this post.
