Family Solutions Social Worker
£23,866 - £25,463 per annum
Grade: Scale 6
37 hours per week
An experienced, successful and established team providing services to children and families where there is a risk of a children becoming at risk of being accommodated by the local authority. Family Solutions is committed to keeping children and families together if it is considered safe to do so. We work closely with a range of professionals and agencies to improve the life chances of children. We also provide direct services to children and families where it is considered safe for children to return to their families following a period of being accommodated by the local authority or we support children in their move to a foster family experience following a period of time spent in a residential provision.
Family solutions have direct access to training, direct support and mentoring from qualified social workers, supervision and access to confidential systems. Family solutions attend a wide range of forums in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Family solutions are also supported by the Family group conference team.
The Role
Is committed to the idea that children are best placed with their family if it is considered safe to do so. Also the need to be able to engage children and have some knowledge about the complexities involved for working with children and families or children with alternative carers. The post holder will directly work with children and families in often crises driven situations in the community or local authority provision, joint working initiatives are in place. Accurate record keeping, attending relevant forums, working alongside a range of professionals, participate in decision making. Contribute to assessment processes. The post holder must have the ability to provide a flexible approach in providing a service which means being in a position to work planned out of hours and weekend working if needed to promote the welfare of a child.
