Teaching Assistant - Grade 2

Salary: £10217 - £10790 per annum

Part time and permanent

Permanent Post of 25 hours per week

25 hours a week working with mainly Year 2 children as a class TA, personal mentor, one to one and small group tutor and liaising with families as appropriate.

Are you a passionate learner and highly motivated?

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, efficient and highly skilled and motivated practitioner to join our team in delivering a high quality education to all Wilden children. 

The successful candidate will need to have very high expectations of themselves and the children.  They will need the ability to use their own initiative and to be adaptable. We expect the successful applicant to support the class teacher in the planning and delivery of a broad balanced curriculum by assisting Wilden children and their families to develop key life-long learning skills and to keep accurate records of their progress.

The successful candidate should have:  A real passion for working with children; excellent spoken and written English; maths and ICT skills relevant to the post; preferably good knowledge of and/or experience of the National curriculum requirements for the end of Year 2 as well as KS1 SATs. An in depth understanding of phonics and how to teach reading and understanding of early number is crucial.
