Job Details
The Children with Disabilities Team is a front-line children’s team with a specialism in disability/additional needs. The team offers a social work service for all children with a complex needs in the form of Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children/Child Looked After (LAC/CLA). We are working to create a responsive service which is able to recognise and meet the needs of children and their families.
The Role
37.0 Hours per Week
You will be required to work with a variety of children, young people, and their carers, including people with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), physical disabilities, and mental health difficulties. You will also support young people with disabilities in their transition from children’s to adult services.
You will be required to undertake outcome focused tasks, support planning, reviews, risk assessments and reports, crisis intervention/duty, and safeguarding within statutory guidelines for CIN, CP, and LAC/CLA. Focusing on strengths and utilising an asset-based approach, you will enable children to identify outcomes, meet their full potential, and maximise their independence.
The team is based across two sites – The Hilary Road Centre in Nuneaton and Saltisford Office Park in Warwick – and there is flexibility with regards to where you would be based. We support our staff to deliver services which are able to enhance the life experiences and chances of children and young people with a disability and their families, keeping them safe and healthy.
Key Requirements
