CCTV Operator
Casual contract for 12 months - hours as and when required
£10.92 per hour

We are looking a CCTV operator to work on a casual basis to provide flexible holiday cover for our CCTV monitoring team based in Pershore. (The successful candidate for this post will be employed on a casual hours contract).

The post holder will be required to assist the CCTV Supervisor with the operational monitoring of the Council’s public space and property related CCTV cameras and those of relevant stakeholders.

You will be required to work shifts on a solo 12 hour shift based pattern, which may include days, nights, weekends and bank holidays that ensures a 24 hour / 365 day CCTV monitoring service is maintained. For the Casual position this will be on an occasional basis to cover absence and holiday within the team.

You will be required to liaise with the police, identify and assist with incidents, preserve evidential recordings, compile statistical data and maintain appropriate and compliant records.

Our CCTV operators assist with the identification and logging of camera or system faults and liaise with contractors undertaking any installations, maintenance or remedial repairs.

In addition to monitoring the CCTV cameras during shifts the post holder will also provide an on-site security and key-holder building management function for the Council’s Civic Centre, and undertake periodic and timely inspections of the building and surrounding external areas.

Applicants must have –

A minimum of one year’s experience in a similar CCTV monitoring / surveillance field.

A current Security Industry Authority (SIA) Public Space CCTV Operators licence.

Evidence of a recent Basic DBS check. (the successful candidate will be subject to a fresh Basic DBS check)

Be able to pass a Non Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV), if required, within 3 months of starting.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate –

Previous CCTV Control Room experience.

A good understanding of the legislation and industry standards relating to the use and monitoring of public space CCTV.

Experience of liaison with the police and other stakeholder organisations.

Applicants must also –

Be a car user and able to travel to and from work without reliance on public transport.

Have good I.T. (Word, Excel, Outlook and databases) and communication skills.

Have a flexible attitude to working different shift patterns to cover sickness and holidays.
