Coventry is European City of Sport 2019, UK City of Culture 2021 and a host city for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022.

We are recruiting a City Events Manager who will lead the development and delivery of the Council’s Events Service, directly managing key events and leading the strategic development of an annual events programme for Coventry that raises the profile of the city as a visitor destination and centre for arts and events.

As an experienced manager within the events sector, you will have a proven track record of commissioning, developing and managing large-scale events to achieve desired outcomes.  You will provide a key interface for the Council with the Coventry City of Culture Trust, Coventry Sports Network and a wide range of partners involved in delivering Coventry’s city-wide, partnership events programme.

Celebrating and valuing Coventry’s diversity is at the heart of our cultural strategies and has been key to our success in becoming the UK City of Culture 2021. As a Council we want our workforce to represent the people that we serve and we recognise the value of having a diverse workforce and the variety of skills, knowledge and perspectives that this brings. We have no pre-conceptions on where the right person for this role comes from, or what they look like and we are committed to making our recruitment practices as inclusive as possible for all. This includes making adjustments or changes for people who have a disability or long-term health condition.

Working Hours:  37.0 Hours per Week

In return, we can offer you an excellent pension scheme, 'MyCar' scheme, flexible working, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at a number of city centre restaurants, shops and other establishments.

Coventry City Council is committed to delivering the best possible services and improving the quality of life for Coventry people. In order to do this effectively we aim to have a workforce that represents the diverse communities we serve, embracing and utilising the broad range of skills, experiences and perspectives this brings.

We are committed to making our recruitment practices as inclusive as possible for all. This includes making adjustments or changes for people who have a disability or long-term health condition.
