The role

An exciting opportunity have arisen within Worcester City Council’s Street Scene Team. We are looking for two Supervisors with experience, excellent knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for working to ensure Worcester is a tidy, colourful and safe city.

We are looking for 2 people with the relevant supervisory experience to join our team on a permanent basis. As part of our new Street Scene Team,  the post holder will be responsible for planning and delivery of essential front line services.

The successful applicants will be leading teams of front line operatives working in and around Worcester, maintaining the cleanliness and landscaping of our City centre and out lying streets.

The post holders will have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety, organisational skills, priority setting and a good level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

Experience of managing change and implementing service improvements would be a real benefit as we strive for excellence across all of the services we deliver. 

A key part of the role will be the ability to deliver high quality of customer service to residents of Worcester City and dealing with queries from members of the public as well as partner organisations.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to design their team’s work program as well as helping to lead the review of the City’s Street scene strategy for the future.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate both knowledge and experience in the field. Worcester City Council places a high priority on Health and Safety legislation; candidates should also be able to provide evidence of continued development in this area.

We would expect the successful candidate to possess a good operational knowledge needed to provide a safe and efficient service  as well as experience in working in a busy development management environment.

Applicants must be physically fit to complete all duties. As the job involves contact with the public on a daily basis, the applicant should have excellent customer care skills and be willing to undertake any necessary training to fully complete the role.

 

 

Additional Information

The hours of work are 37 per week, to suit the needs of the service which may include some weekend working.
