About Us

Warwickshire EPS is a large and vibrant service with a strong local and national reputation in a county full of culture and activity. The service is divided into five area teams located in three bases. Each team is led and managed by a Senior EP and has excellent admin support.

As a secure and growing service we are able to invest in high quality CPD for our staff, offering numerous opportunities to develop both their skills and their careers. We have strong links with a number of universities which helps us to keep a skilled and well-informed workforce of Senior EPs, Specialist Senior EPs, experienced EPs, Trainee EPs, Assistant EPs and psychology undergraduates on placement. The EPS is part of Warwickshire’s Vulnerable Learners team of specialist teachers and other professionals and works particularly closely with the SENDAR Service under joint leadership arrangements.

Being a member of Warwickshire EPS offers:

• The opportunity to work in a strongly inclusive county alongside a range of specialist professions dedicated to raising inclusion
• Membership of a friendly, lively and proactive EP service with a positive outlook and strong local and national reputation.
• High quality supervision and opportunities to develop specialist expertise
• Excellent individual and whole service CPD including the opportunity to gain additional qualifications
• A dedicated business support team
• Flexible and family friendly working arrangements including a working at home policy
• Modern offices and good technological support including smart phone / iPhone, iPad / laptop

The Role

Warwickshire EPs have a very varied and interesting range of work. In addition to their allocated geographic patch where they work in support of all children, young people, families and their educational settings all of our EPs undertake an interesting range of activities and are encouraged to develop specialisms. Current specialisms include Youth Justice, SEMH, Autism, Critical Incidents, Fostering & Adoption, Post 16, ISPs, Cognition & Learning, Early Years and many more. Individual and small teams of EPs undertake a wide range of training and action research projects and we constantly review and refresh our practice. There is a high demand for educational psychology services from the Local Authority looking for strategic support as it implements a strongly inclusive agenda. In addition almost all Warwickshire schools and colleges subscribe to our services as do a number of educational establishments in neighbouring LAs and quite a few independent providers.

We would be happy to consider the successful applicant joining any one of our three area bases; North Warwickshire (just outside Coventry), East (Rugby) or Centre South (Warwick).

Key Requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic, skilled and creative EPs committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and families across Warwickshire to join our dynamic team. We would be delighted to hear from both experienced EPs and colleagues in the second or third year of doctoral training.

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
