Technician (Information Communications Technology)
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum
This is a full time post based in the Technical Resources team. You will need to support the effective use of technological resources for students and staff by providing a 1st and 2nd tier technical support / trouble shooting service supporting the use of the College ICT infrastructure. Your duties will include ensuring the technology resources are well maintained and meet regulatory safety standards. This is a proactive service that ensures the smooth operation of facilities to enable students to achieve outstanding outcomes.
We are looking for a methodical, highly organised person with excellent technical skills with a good level of understanding of hardware and software that cover PC, Apple workstations, industry standard office applications, networks, mobile technology and telecommunications. Your ability to work alone, engage in team activities and interact with students, staff and visitors using excellent customer service skills is essential
The successful candidate should hold a level 3 qualification or above in ICT or Sciences You will need to be IT literate. A Level 2 qualification (GCSE Grade A – C) or equivalent in English and maths (or demonstration that you are operating at level 2 in both subjects) is essential.
The role is a standard Monday to Friday work pattern office hour with one late evening per week (13.00- 21.00) during term time. However, occasional early, late or weekend work may be required to facilitate projects/events that have to be completed out of hours. The on call rota requires that you are available roughly one week in five during term time.
