The Planning Applications Team is working hard to maintain high performance levels – last year it produced the best performance ever. As a result of a continued high volume of applications we are looking to recruit a new permanent Assistant Planner post within the team. The position is based in the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon and whose district boundaries extend into the Cotswolds AONB and the West Midlands Green Belt.

You will be assisting the team in dealing with a variety of caseloads focussed on householder applications and other types of minor applications including lawful development certificates, advertisements and prior approvals.

You will be expected to show enthusiasm, drive and a high level of personal organisational skills to manage a large volume of simpler applications. You will have contact with District Councillors, parish councils and members of the public.

You will ideally hold a post graduate qualification in planning or a related field or be about to graduate.

In addition to an open and friendly environment, you’ll enjoy an excellent benefits package including BUPA, a minimum of 23 days annual leave, flexi-time and a Local Government Pension Scheme and office car park.

For an informal discussion about the Assistant Planners role, please contact Helen Watson (Team Leader, Assistant Planners - Wed, Thu or Fri am) on 01789 260325 or Abigail Chapman (Team Leader, Assistant Planners Mon, Tues & Weds am) on 01789 260332.

An application form and job description can be accessed via the website, www.stratford.gov.uk, alternatively telephone the 24 hour answering service on (01789) 260711, or e-mail sitsvac@stratford-dc.gov.uk.  The minicom number for Elizabeth House is (01789) 260747.
